I’ve spent a decade conducting mixed-methods research across a myriad of contexts — from helping brands understand their customers, to organizations assessing their employees’ well-being. I’ve measured what mattered, turned data into decisions, and implemented actionable strategies for all kinds of leaders facing a litany of business problems. I’m good at what I do and I love doing it. But somewhere along the way, I started noticing something that no survey was designed to capture: the gap between what leaders believed about their organizations and what the people inside them were actually experiencing.
Investigating that gap is what I now offer.
I’m a PhD-trained researcher and organizational consultant with a background in sociology, qualitative and quantitative research, and creative nonfiction. I’ve spent years learning how to ask the questions people don’t ask, surface the dynamics people don’t name, and translate what I find into language that moves organizations forward, not just research decks meant to inform them.
My approach is grounded in one core belief: most leaders aren’t failing because they don’t care. They’re failing because they don’t have access to the full picture. The higher you climb in an organization, the less honest information flows to you. My job is to change that — and to help leaders build the conditions where honest information can flow all the time, not just when someone hires me to find it.
I’ve facilitated workshops in corporate boardrooms and county jails. I’ve designed listening programs for national nonprofits and built research practices from the ground up. I hold a PhD in Sociology from Virginia Tech, an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Chatham University, and a decade of applied research experience that taught me more about human behavior than any classroom.
I work with leaders who are genuinely trying — and who are ready to see what their best intentions might be making invisible.
